Cookies

A cookie is a small identifier message that is sent from a web server to a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox. The cookie message is stored in the web browser’s memory and is sent back to the web server each time the web browser requests a web page.

The main use for cookies is to uniquely identify a user. Websites use cookies for different reasons. For example, you may be asked to complete a form that asks where you live, your age, and your hobbies. This information is then stored in the cookie file so that the information displayed to you on that specific website is personalized to you.

Every time you log in to online banking, Servus Credit Union issues you a unique cookie. This cookie does not collect any information from your computer nor is it saved to your computer hard drive. Servus Credit Union uses the cookie to ensure that you receive financial information that belongs to you. When you log out of online banking and close your web browser the cookie expires.
