(Calgary, Alberta) – Gravity Espresso & Wine Bar has won $25,000 toward marketing services through a contest presented by Servus Credit Union, and marketing agencies WAX and OMD. The contest was launched following Servus's move into the Inglewood community. It was aimed at supporting Inglewood businesses and giving them the opportunity to tap into marketing resources they may not otherwise be able to.

"We wanted to give something back to the community of Inglewood, which is home to so many unique businesses," says Ellen Hamilton, Servus's Senior Relationship Manager for Business Banking, Calgary Region. "When we told our partners at WAX and OMD, they immediately jumped on board to make the prize more substantial. We're all really excited to work together with Gravity." Together, the team will create and execute a new marketing plan.

Andy Fennell, owner of Gravity Espresso & Wine Bar, admits to only having recently "woken up" to evolved marketing strategies and their advantages. "For someone that grew his brand and business from word of mouth advertising and external write-ups and reviews, this prize means a great deal," he said. "As the owner of a family-run business, I have found it extremely difficult navigating this economy over the past 3 years. I am excited to see what this $25,000 can do for the business."

Work between WAX and Gravity is beginning immediately. “As an independent creative agency, we understand the challenges small businesses face," says Nick Asik, Creative Director at WAX. "We’re looking forward to bringing that knowledge to helping them outsmart, not outspend the competition.”
